The Red Door Thrift Shop is an outreach ministry of Christ Episcopal Church. The mission of The Red Door is to provide quality used household goods and clothing at a great value and in doing so protecting the environment through reuse and recycling. The Red Door strives to provide a friendly and supportive place where customers and volunteers can gather while generating revenue to support the community both financially and through in kind donations.

Volunteers from all faith backgrounds come from Anacortes, Skagit County, and the surrounding islands to donate their time in various roles including receiving donations, preparing items for sale, cashiering and creating window displays, as well as many offsite tasks like researching unique items, measuring and pricing linen and fabric donations and creating item descriptions for online sales.

All the profits generated by The Red Door go directly back into the community. Funds are distributed to various organizations in Anacortes, Skagit County and around the world, concentrating on sheltering the homeless, feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, nurturing families and children and welcoming foreigners.

I work as a noontime relief cashier.
Not only do I enjoy the people I work with, but I love visiting and helping our customers.
I continually hear "oh hi Mrs. Corbin" from my former Anacortes High School students.
I think most of them are surprised I am still alive.
My mother helped with the start of the "Mouse House" so I feel a special connection."
My time helping out at the Red Door is always interesting!
The expertise of the management and long-term volunteers has created the best mix of items I have seen at a thrift shop.
