Architectural Woodcraft was started in 1989 to meet the area's growing need for the preservation and restoration of historic buildings. We helped renovate many of Asheville's architectural gems, such as the Basilica of St. Lawrence, the Grove Arcade, as well as many private homes. Our shop has grown over the decades and we now do much of our woodworking in contemporary and modern styles and techniques.
Areas of particular expertise include custom doors, windows, cabinetry, furniture and architectural details. We build the kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces that make a house special. Our unparalleled craftsmanship and creativity shows in the quality and beauty of our work. Whether it's a commercial project or home, we are eager to help you with your next restoration or new construction project.
Let us make something special for you. Kitchens are the center of most homes, and we can build something that you will use and love. Working with clients, interior designers, and architects, we can design and build cabinetry from historic to the very latest contemporary styles.

Green Building
Report
With the cornerstone of Architectural Woodcraft in historic preservation, we feel that one of the most important aspects of "green building" is building something to last for generations.
Everything we build is created with this enduring quality in mind.
We are also mindful of our responsibility to our customers and to future generations by building with an environmental ethos every step of the way.
We are able to create new windows and doors in custom configurations, that are able to meet the most rigorous energy efficiency standards.

My interest in building and creating things most likely came from two sources.
One was my father, who was a civil engineer.
The other, my summers spent working in heavy construction while pursuing a degree in fine arts and education.
I started out working in a small company manufacturing Euro-designed windows and doors here in Asheville, NC.
I left to start my own business, Architectural Woodcraft.
I saw a great opportunity to work not only in the restoration of buildings in Western North Carolina, but of new architectural designs, too.
