Wells United Methodist Church
Open Doors United Methodist Church offers dynamic preaching and exciting worship every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Wells Campus, and 10:30 a.m. at the Kiester Campus. Our pastor is Rev. Christopher Leistra. Worship in a relaxed and family friendly environment. We offer a style mix of traditional and contemporary worship enhanced with the benefit of projection.

Open Doors United Methodist Church began over 150 years ago, the result of collective histories of several churches and people of faith. The mix of who we are today blends together a rich heritage from former Evangelical Brethren, Evangelical United Brethren, and Methodist Episcopal, laying the foundation of who we are today as United Methodists - people striving to Love God and Serve People!

Open Doors United Methodist Church's main interest is to keep everyone's safety in mind. We follow the guidance of our Conference and state and local recommendations in how fast and how much to open up. Currently, we are in the Yellow Phase, allowing in-person worshiping at 50% capacity, social distancing, and wearing masks.

We offer a style mix of traditional and contemporary worship at two campuses in Wells and Kiester, MN.
The Wells Campus is the larger of the two.
Its facility is equipped with projection; a staffed nursery for babies through 4 years; and is wheelchair accessible to the basement and sanctuary level.
Hearing assist devices are also available.
Following the 9:00 a.m.
Worship Service (during the non-pandemic time), during the months of September through May, there is Sunday School for everyone age three and up.
Music
Report
Practices every Wednesday September through May.
Music is an important way for us to express our faith and to worship God.
There is a saying, "They who sing pray twice."
What better way to share the joy in making music than to become a part of the adult choir?
Laughing is good for the soul, the voice, and for a mid-week pick-me-up.
Laughter happens at choir, too!
Sounds of Praise is the official title for the bell choir, although we usually just call them Bells.
This type of music making is unique and really fun (if you can judge by the peal of laughter coming from the practice room).
Outreach
Report
Our faith community has never been contained by the walls of our church.
You will find our members expressing their faith through action every where you look - down the street or halfway around the world.
A group of women meet monthly to sew cloth diapers made from recycled t-shirts and flannel.
These are shipped to various parts of the world where the need is great.
Most get distributed through the Midwest Mission Distribution Center.
Some have gone to Haiti and Jamaica.
Over the five years since they've been making them, several thousand have been sent out.
