Open Doors of Washington Township is an expression of the ministry of Jesus Christ in our community to assist individuals with their physical and spiritual needs. To improve the quality of life for Washington Township residents through food and clothing assistance, referral to community services, and spiritual guidance. We serve anyone who lives in Washington Township, or is referred to us by one of our member churches.

Respect - We will treat our clients, and all with whom we have dealings in the community, with the utmost respect and caring. Honesty - We will operate the Open Doors pantry with honesty and openness. Fairness - We will treat our clients with the utmost fairness in our service to them.

Stewardship - We will be good stewards of the resources afforded to Open Doors by our supporting churches and community.

Our Family of Clients

Open Doors of Washington Township serves eligible individuals and families who live in Westfield, Washington Township and have food and clothing needs due to age or low income.
We also provide assistance to people outside this area who attend one of our member churches.
We have a centralized food and clothing pantry.
We also have a referral system for resources available in the community.
We provide extra assistance through seasonal special programs, such as Back-To-School and Thanksgiving.
We strive to promote understanding among individuals from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Food Pantry
Report
Families who qualify for Open Doors assistance may come in once a month for their primary food distribution.
They may also come in 4 additional times to shop the foods on our reception area racks.
These include fresh produce, deli items, and a variety of packaged foods.
Our clothing pantry is also open to our client families during all shopping trips.
The Open Doors Pantry receives food donations from the Midwest Food Bank, individuals, local churches, Boy Scouts, post office and school food drives.
Clothing

The community is generous in donating gently used clothing.
Our volunteers sort through it and keep the racks up to date with items which are in good condition and appropriate to the season of the year Extra clothing we are unable to use is passed along to various missions projects.
Clothing donations can be made any time in the Donation Box at the Open Doors Pantry building located at 19360 Tomlinson Rd.
It is just north of Grand Park.
Spring Cleaning Baskets

In the image here, members of the Westfield Rotary Club make up the Spring Cleaning Baskets for Open Doors Family of Clients.
Several clubs and other civic and commercial organizations, along with many private individuals support this program with cleaning supplies and help packing out the baskets.
Each year during the month of April, the Open Doors Pantry provides a laundry basket full of cleaning supplies to its' Family of Clients.
These are items that our client families cannot purchase with food stamps, SNAP, or other govt.
